I could go into various different corners of my life story and healing, but I’ll keep this short and sweet.
I had a very traumatic childhood, which lead to many years of my adult life being filled with binge drinking, low self-esteem, self-hate, Crohn’s disease, bipolar disorder, yo-yo dieting, numbing my emotions, and running from my inner guidance.
Several years ago I began really delving deep and peeling back the layers of my pain. I knew it was time to do the work because I got very close to committing suicide. I have had SO many different teachers since then, and self-love and healing is a never-ending journey…but I have learned an enormous amount of tools to look within and sit with what you see when you do.
When it comes to yoga…I’ve always loved to
exercise. At my thinnest or at my heaviest I’ve always danced, lifted weights, hiked, done rock climbing, martial arts, you name it. But YOGA is the very first thing that taught me how to listen. Listen to what my body needed, what my mind was saying, and what my soul was craving.
I started to wake up and have been on this path ever since.
