Vin / Yin Yoga
Long holds channel energy into your body’s meridians, or subtle energy channels. Yin yoga helps you to experience the depth of yoga postures when you hold them for longer periods of time. You’ll experience a deep sense of calm and stillness in each posture. Yin aims to open the hips, free the spine and pelvis and quiet your mind. You’ll leave class feeling a new sense of freedom and release.
Find stillness in this gentle flow that opens space for you to melt into poses slowly. Restore energy by holding some poses with props and modifications. These active and passive holds cultivate the body’s natural ability to release blockages targeting deep connective tissues.
A unique student-centered approach, taught at an open level. Balance classes include breath awareness, alignment and flow. .
We believe that interweaving from a diverse pool of influences creates a stronger yoga offering for physical, emotional and cultural well being. Teachers are encouraged to develop their individual styles and to share their unique experiences and tricks with you. Every class at Balance is unique. Balance Yoga is always evolving as we do and varies from teacher to teacher. Unless noted, classes are appropriate for all levels of practitioners.
