Visualize Your Highest Self with these 4 Journal Prompts
Sierra Vandervort // March 1, 2022
Manifestation and visualization is the name of the game these days.
Today, we’re going to talk a little bit about what your highest self means and how to access it. At the bottom of the page, I’ve shared four journaling prompts to help you connect with and visualize your highest self. So be sure to copy these down so you can come back to them later!
What is your highest self?
What exactly do we mean when we’re talking about “your highest self”? It’s a phrase that’s gained a lot of traction over the last few years. But it’s kind of a lofty subject. To put it too simply, it’s the “best” version of yourself. But even that description leaves a lot unanswered. What is “best” anyway? How do I know what’s “best” for me?
The concept of the highest self is philosophical, so there are many ways to interpret it. I love psychologist Athena Laz’s description of as: “the part of us that is wise, aware and connected to all that is.”
Your highest self is the part of you that stands unwavering by the stresses of modern-day life. It’s the awareness that rests behind all your thoughts, worries & attachments. Your highest self is where your physical body meets the spiritual realm. It is the part of you that is at peace and eternal.
Connecting with and visualizing our highest selves is one of the noblest journeys we can embark on.
Practices for Connecting with your Highest Self
So why journaling? Firstly, it’s fairly accessible. Many of us kept diaries or journals when we were younger, so the concept of journaling isn’t as foreign or intimidating as maybe a 30-minute transcendental meditation would be, and accessible is good when we’re trying to form new habits!
Also, journaling connects you to your highest self through subtle communication. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with thoughts, stressors, or

to-do lists, journaling is a great way to clear the clutter from your mind and access the piece of you beneath all of that – your highest self.
When you’re connected to your highest self, things start to open up for you. You’re suddenly more connected to your intuition, so you can feel confident and aligned with your actions. You find yourself healing old wounds of self-doubt and lack, so you can experience lasting transformation.
And perhaps most importantly, you start prioritizing yourself, so you can better show up for others.

– If I had no fear of failure or judgment, what passions + unique gifts do I have that I would love to share with the world?
