A 30-minute Yin Yoga Practice for the Winter Solstice

Known in the mystical community as Yule, the Winter Solstice is a time of deep intuition and stillness.

It’s also a powerful time of rebirth, as the shortening days of winter finally come to a pause, the Sun hangs at its lowest position in the sky. And after the Solstice, it starts its journey back up, the slow ascend towards spring and eventually summer.

These days of deep winter carry an energy of deep intuition and subconscious energy. We’re inclined to lean into our stillness and tap into our intuition as we start making plans for the next year.

Harnessing Winter Solstice Energy

One of the biggest themes for this time of year is restoration. We spend so much time focusing on productivity and destinations, how often do we give ourselves a chance to deeply reflect and rest in our lives?

Yule’s energy is wise and patient. See if you can embrace surrender, grace, and trust during these last few weeks of the year.

In the yoga practice that follows, we’re diving deep into surrender and creating space with a 30-minute yin yoga class.

I suggest comfy clothes, soothing lights, and a collection of your favorite candles to bring a sense of warmth to this practice.
