Those who say, “I’m not a smoker” are much more likely to quit smoking than those that say, “I’m trying to quit smoking.” so rather than starting with what you want to do, focus on who you want to be. Take a look at your goals and ask yourself what kind of person would achieve those goals.  

2. Start small: It’s easy to get overwhelmed when trying to make big changes all at once. Instead, focus on one habit at a time and start with small, achievable goals. Once you’ve established a habit, you can build on it gradually.

3. Create a plan: Once you’ve set your intentions and identified your first habit to work on, create a plan for how you’ll make it happen. What steps will you take to make it a reality? How can you make it easier and more appealing for yourself? Write out a schedule or to-do list to keep yourself on track.

4. Celebrate your progress: Finally, be sure to celebrate your successes along the way. Building better habits takes time and effort, so give yourself credit for each step you take toward your goals.
