A New Moon Yoga Ritual to Help You Set Your Intentions

Sierra Vandervort // May 24th, 2022

Hello, modern mystic! Welcome to this New Moon yoga ritual.

Today, we’re doing a New Moon yoga ritual together. I’m so excited to spend this magical day with you!

The New Moon is a time of relaxation & release, that’s what these soothing yoga & meditation practices are for.

This is the beginning of our cycle. It’s where we set our goals and intentions for the upcoming cycle. It’s said your luck will be best here when starting new projects. This is our calm before the storm.

We get a solid idea of what it is we want, why we want it, how it will make us feel. I like to do my divination practices (tarot and oracle readings) during this phase. Our focus for this phase can be clarity & beginnings.

The New Moon is a time of relaxation & release, that’s what these soothing yoga & meditation practices are for!

Join me for a soothing yin practice that will help you release tension from the low back and the hips, then I’ll guide you through a soothing pranayama (breathing) exercise, followed by a mindfulness meditation to help connect you to your heart’s desires.

From there we craft our New Moon intentions together.

You don’t need much to get started with this practice. Simply set yourself up in a space where you can move about freely and will be relatively undisturbed. Light some candles, get ready to move, and maybe keep your journal nearby!

For my practice, I’m using my favorite sustainable yoga rug from Oko Living. These mats are ethically hand-loomed out of organic cotton and dyed with medicinal herbs. Plus, they come from a small women-owned business! If you’d like to grab your own yoga rug, use my code 10thelocalmystic to save $10 on your order.

I teach connection. Connection to the body, to nature and to that universal love that holds us all together!

In my yoga teaching, we connect the body and the breath as a form of emotional and spiritual self-care. Through this connection, we embody compassion, joy and strength for ourselves & others.

In my astrology and seasonal connection teachings, we tune in to the energies of nature to inspire harmony & optimal growth in our daily lives!
